NEMA undertakes major raids in Nairobi populous clubs
Several entertainment joints in Nairobi’s Kilimani area were closed down following a crackdown by national environment management authority, NEMA.
NEMA officials cited non-compliance with noise pollution regulations as the reason behind the closure of the establishments following complaints by area residents.
Several patrons at the famous B-club and Jiweke Tavern along Ngong’ road were arrested during the swoop. However, a raid at Kiza and Space Lounge were not successful after the establishments were closed down by the time officials arrived following a tip off.
Those arrested during the operation will be arraigned in court Monday, as NEMA officials say the fight against noise pollution continues unabated.
